Although steam was used in early prototypes of dirigibles, but only in a form of steam engine to drive a dirigible, not to lift it and keep in air.

That's because using steam is dangerous, due to the high temperature. But it's still a viable lifting gas, so it's conceivable that it'd be used in Azadi ships, especially since we already know they have steam engines.

And magic, therefore possibly better ways of containing the heat, or protecting themselves from it. Good theory.

Not to mention it would be very easy to quickly make a cup of tea.

Although the Azadi are rather against magic, at least when it comes down to magical races. Would they be willing to let the 'mere' foot soldiers play around with that stuff?

Interesting theory (about Brynn being a traitor).
I never realised that the arrow was shot from the ground or that Vamon seemed to know who April was.
The only thing that doesn't really fit is that Brynn shouted "For Raven!". If they had a secret signal I doubt it would be something that many of the rebels might shout.

Maybe it was only a part of a complex signal? Because if Brynn have shouted something like "We are the champions!" or "Make love, not war!" or "Freedom to Azadi!" it would become suspicious to the rebels.
