Angry TLJ crashes at the end of FMVs/cutscenes (4 cd version)

I know there's a million threads about this, but I still can't get this to work. The game installs and runs good. But when the initial cinematic is running (the one about the dream), the game always crashes right at the end of it, when April turns around, and she's in the cliff. I've tried disabling 3d acceleration and running in windowed mode without success. I tried running in compatibility with XP, and the game wouldn't even start, it would get stuck at a black screen saying "Please, wait".

Finally, I tried disabling the HQ video settings, and the worst part is that it worked. Then I said "Ok, let's try and see if there's another way which I can play with the HQ videos, and if not, I go with this". I didn't find that other way, I disabled again the HQ videos, and now it crashes too..... AAAAARRRG!! WHYY??!

If anyone knows the solution, please let me know!

I have the 4 cd version of the game, and I'm running Windows 7 (x64) via Bootcamp in a Macbook Pro.

Yes, I have, but there's no such slider. I've read that they disabled that option for new versions like Windows 7.

Have you copied in the MS DLLs?

No I haven't, and I don't really know what that means, but I tried with the minimum installation of 200 mb and it works now. I know its not optimal, and I will need to change cd's, but I'm so tired and frustrated with every other "solution" that I'm happy that it just works, so i'll stick to this

There are two MSVC and one MFC DLLs on CD1. If you copy these into the folder where the game is installed, it fixes quite a lot of weird issues with the 4CD edition on newer PCs. (The most common problem is that the game crashes the instant you select "Begin the Journey".)
