Of course not Just start working on extracting the song played when you return to Casablanca the last time. It isn't made public yet.

I think those are miss-detection from the Hyperipper, the .669 I got here are pieces of mp3s and can be played with mp3 players that don't care about complete files (mplayer for example), disabling the detection of .it and .669 might help to get rid of those miss-detection, since those formats are most likly not in Dreamfall.

And just for the record for those who havn't found it out themself, the .bik files (those are not packed in .pak) can be played with the Bink player available from:

    http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm

I also created a little tool to browse around in the data file, nothing special at the moment, it simply interprets everything as pixels and displays it on screen (ie. it has no idea how the .pak files are organized), but its enough to extrakt some textures:

Its written in SDL and more a ugly hack then a tool:

    http://pingus.seul.org/~grumbel/tmp/dataview.cc

My main issue at the moment is to figure out what format those textures here are in, its not RGB(24bit) and neither RGBA(32bit), might be some float based format or a 16bit format, I have no idea at the moment:

    http://pingus.seul.org/~grumbel/tmp/...tureformat.png

And then of course one could use the starting point of a texture or the wave and mp3 files to find a file header and figure out how the whole .pak is layouted, so far I couldn't find anything that looks like a dictionary of filenames with offsets, the vox files don't contain any filenames at all.

    DragonPacker can be downloaded from:

    http://www.elberethzone.net/index.ph...p5&language=en

Edit: Did a bit of strings/grep/sed over the pak files to get a few filenames, results are this, how they connect to the pack I have however still no idea:

Answering myself: Those textures are compressed in S3TC format.

    Alright, I'll explain the process:

#1. I've had nothing but bad luck with Dragon Unpacker 5 for some strange reason, but unpacker 4 works just fine. Here's the installer link: http://www.elberethzone.net/download...file=fullsetup

#2. Once you've got the program installed, run it, obviously (first time you run the program it asks you what language to use, so pick appropriately). Once the program is open, select File -> Hyperripper

#3. Under the Formats tab select MPGa (if you only want the soundtrack files) or WAV if you also want the sound effects. Under the MPEG Audio Tab, make sure only MPEG 1.0/2.0/2.5 layer III is selected. Under the Search Tab in the Source file section, select the .pak file you want to extract. If you want to find the song "be with you" you can find it in the both the hospital_room.pak and hydrofoil.pak files. I reccomend you also select the tickbox Create Hyperripper file, this allows you to be able to extract the files later without having to go through the ripping process again. Once all this is done, click on the Search! button.

(all of this assumes that you are using the english language option)

#4. Once the ripping process is complete, close hyperripper and you will see two panes in the main screen of Dragon Unpacker. On the left you will see the file that is being looked at on the right, you will find the files that are packed inside that file. Right click on the file listed in the left pane (either hospital_room.pak or hydrofoil.pak) and select Extract all. It will then ask you where you want to place the extracted files. Once you've selected the place to put the files, hit Ok and voila, you've extracted the music from Dreamfall.

#5. There is no step 5.

I finally managed to get the .pak files extracted, I have still no idea where the filenames are hiding, but I found filelength and offsets, so the pak can be split into individual files, the code is super-ugly and there is still quite a bit of information in the .pak left that I have no idea of what it means, those interested can have a look at:

    http://pingus.seul.org/~grumbel/tmp/...l-extractor.cc

PS: This is only usefull for programmers at the moment, since its just source code and no executable.

hmmm i tried to rip the cellphone signal. it appears as if it's not standard waw format, though, and thus it can't be converted to mp3, nor played by my cell phone... suggestions?

Try converting it into a .mp3 with constant bitrate (128 should work)
