whats all these problems with asking cd? I think complete install doesnt requires cd's

anyway thanks to whoever made the patch.

I coudn't launch the game with this patch
After clicking game.exe it reports about a mistake during work with the DX_Module.dll. I have 2 cd version (1.57 patch).

As posted several times in this thread, this patch only works with the old 4CD version.
(Don't worry, you're not missing much.)

Hm, but in this post - http://forums.longestjourney.com/sho...3&postcount=15 - it's said that the patch works with the 2 CD edition too.

    Please read more carefully:

Edit: Actually, I updated my version to 1.53 (well, the newest one), and I turned antialiasing on in the display properties for my TI4600 card. And it sure works fine with TLJ 2cd version. I don't even use this unofficial update posted here.
Try the newest official patch v1.57 without this one here, AA might work.
The special patch in this thread is only for the 4 CD version.

People, this patch only works on the 4CD version of The Longest Journey, and it will alow you to enable antialiasing in your Ati Catalyst Control Center... also it will change the fonts around a bit, nothing more, nothing less.

I don't think antistrophic filtering is needed?

Its not yet confirmed that this patch will also work on nVidia graphic cards? (a GeForce 7800 GTX for example )?

If you make such comparison pictures it would be better if you use a different format than "jpg", since this smoothes some parts of the picture and introduce a lot of visible compression artifacts, in this case especially around April. So it is not very easy to see the real differences, since the picture itself is already "tainted".

The best choice of format is the PNG, since that's still true colour and compressed, but it's also lossless (so it doesn't get artifacts). JPEGs are still useful for photographs (they can get better compression by dropping out some of the contrast), but if you want to preserve the original image exactly then go with PNGs every time.

Hi, I`m using the 4 cd version on windows vista (with a litttle dll-copying!) but i can`t get this aa patch working.
i installed it, & i enable aa in my nvidia settings.
i`m pretty sure i didn`t miss anything. so , is something wrong with vista and/or with this new nvidia driver? (97.46 - cotrol panel 1.3.7.37)
(oh, i forgot to tell, i`m using an AGP Geforce FX 6600 Albatron)
