I just read on avault that Funcom is pondering a LJ sequel. I personally would like a sequel very much.
How about the rest of you?

Could it be true, i have dreamed of thsi to come true, The sequel to The Longest Journey, one of the greatest old school adventure games in the modern life of gamers!
That could really be the best news I have recieved this year.
We need great games, and Funcom knows how to do them: Great script, great graphics and fully usable mouse control!

I doubt it could happen, seeing as Funcom's focus is more on MMORPG type of games...

...but god how I hope they will make a sequel someday. I know at least a dozen people who I have gotten to play the game who need to come sign this.

Haven't ever heard a negative point yet to any of their views on it :)

Damn ! Is my dream finally come true ?! It's still hard to believe...
Now my new dream would be to participate with the Funcom Team :) for TLJ 2's creation (an unrealistic dream ??...mmhh the one before I thought impossible, was just granted :p ).

I think any game that proves a big hit with the punters should be sequelled but not at the expense of either the storyline or quality. I have not managed to play much of this yet as my daughter is hogging it, but soon!

Yes, I would like a sequel, very much!

But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Funcom, make the English version widely available in all countries.

Here in the Netherlands only the Dutch version was for sale and I did NOT want to play that. Why did I not have the choice to buy the English version from brick-and-tile shops?

In the end, I have managed to make an exchange with someone in the UK, so I have been able to play the game. But it took a lot of effort and I'm not sure if I am willing to go the same lengths for a sequel... please give me easy access...

I know there are a lot of people in the Netherlands who would like to play the game but refuse to buy the Dutch version. You could have a lot more customers by making both versions available!

I hope you are willing to take this into consideration,

PolloDiablo

I hate to pose the ugly question, but, while I'm looking forward to a TLJ sequel that I'm sure will surpass the original visually, is anyone else scared that the sequel may not live up to the grandeur of the original? I can only think of a few stories (I'm thinking of TLJ's narrative evolution, not gameplay) that managed to surpass the original, like The Empire Strikes Back or Wrath of Khan. And probably The Two Towers. Is anyone else scared that TLJ2 might not be up to snuff compared to the original?

I still remember how much I was looking forward to Metal Gear Solid II after the first one on the Playstation and while the opening with Snake on the Oil Tanker was everything I hoped it would be, I was mighty disappointed with the turn the story took afterwards. I don't get to control Snake?!? I get this whiny blond dweeb??!? WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?!?

And while I agree that maybe it's not such a hot idea to make April the star of TLJ 2, I'm also wondering if anyone could fill her shoes and still weave into the storyline seamlessly that was hinted at in TLJ's ending.

Theories, anyone?

Sequel- Good

Is there going to be another long journey? Have FunCom decided anything?

Imagine the title: "A Longer Longest Journey" or something :D

Reason with your daughter. If that doesn't work, send her to bed without dinner and play it while she's complaining about you to her friends on the phone. If she's not a teenager, bribe her; a new car usually does it. Or maybe a trip.

Yeah right! How do you bribe a daughter who earns more than her dad :D

In that case, forget bribery, resort to blackmail. It's all in the name of Gaming. April would understand... She lied all the time and threw people in ovens...

The Longest Journey is an amazing game, I cant think of any other game more deserving of a sequel or prequel.

Please Funcom, give us another chapter to The Longest Journey.

You'd think as much acclaim as the this game got, that they would be all over a sequel in no time! I sure would be!

red devil

IF you were in the process of designing a sequel, would you rush it out or take your time in development/testing and put out a class "will sell loads" sequel? We shall see........

The problem is they haven't even STARTED yet!!!

djsexysherry

I know they haven't even started yet, which makes me think that the sequel (whenever they begin it) better be that much better ;)

Also, you' d think they'd brag a bit even if they were supposed to keep it quiet, they have to get tired of all the correspondance from fans wanting a second one ;)

Presumably then - there is no sequel then?

Pirateguybrush

No. there WILL be a sequal. Ragnar assures us of that quite often. But if you want to help make one yourselves, go to www.thedivide.org and then the forums, journey man inn, maybe it's time for a mod topic. We are thinking about making our own and have asked Ragnar to help us.

Of course I want a sequal this was a great adventure game. I've been playing adventure games since about 85 and I swear for awhile there I thought i'd never see a new adventure game which would totally drag me into it and then I found tlj. It's the first adventure game i've played through in ages that I really wanted to keep going. Most new games can't keep my attention but TLJ sure held me.

I really really really hope there will be a sequel to tlj!! It was the best adventure I played since Blade Runner and it still is the best adventure.

You got it man!

We're using a very powerful 3D engine called Shark, which is being developed by Spinor in cooperation with Funcom. It's allowing us to re-create scenes from the first game in real time and in much greater detail, using tons of cool effects like volumetric fog, full-screen glow, rim lighting, rain, snow, and so on - all the latest and greatest in eye candy.

Thanks but this willl be only a brief visit. I will resurface here though when Dreamfall is released as there surely will be some puzzles which require consultation with fellow gamers.
