Check out any adventure genre games, (mostly done by lucasarts) such as Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max Hit the Road, The Dig, Full Throttle, any of the Monkey Island games, Indiana Jones:the Fate of Atlantis (not sure if that's the correct title), Eco Quest, Grim Fandango, (there's this one game that i can't remember the title of, but it's about a girl who goes back in time, and she has this really cool dog, who you get to control every now and then and bite things!)
However, for many of the older lucasarts adventure games, you either need a really old computer to play, or program called Quick and Easy, that can be found at the lucasarts message board here: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26090
There's also the Myst (forgive my spelling if it's wrong) series, which is an adventure game with more of a first person veiw. I also heard that Shadow of Destiny, and Zanzarah: The Hidden Portal were good according to www.gamespot.com

Schizsm is meant to be good - but it is also very unstable and crashes a lot :(
If you want good puzzles that will get your brain really working try the Myst series of games (Myst, Riven, Exile).

I've played the demo of Zanzarah, and it's not an adventure game. It's more of a Pokemon-style RPG with a FPS-like combat system. Seemed okay, but I don't think it's available in Canada, and I didn't like it enough to go through the trouble of importing it from the UK.
And ScummVM (scummvm.sf.net) allows you to play many of the old LucasArts games nearly flawlessly on a variety of platdorms. You might want to take a look.

The orginal game called "Obsidian" by RocketScience was amazing, especially with the accompanying guide because it really dealt with the fascinating topic of fuzzy logic, artificial intelligence, and the philosophy along the lines of "Do robots dream of electric sheep?"
If you can find a copy on e-Bay or wherever, grab it. The company fell apart after it was finished.

fuzzy logic: It's like wooly thinking, only less so.:D
Well, Pratchett quotes aside.
I would recommend LOOM (also see my Avatar:D ) by LucasArts.
Like Grandpa Bob said, you need an old computer, or a special program. for that one. But I know one especially designed for old LucasArts Adventures, and also some others. It is ScummVM (http://www.scummvm.com/) . You can also download another very good Adventure game called "Beneath a Steel Sky" there. And you don't have to be afraid. The download is LEGAL!. Hooray to Revolution software! They released it for free download now. I recommend playing it.:) :) :) :) :) :) :)
