Hello,
I have a Sound Blaster Audigy SE, which according to the documentation supports eax 4.0. I have been trying to run Dreamfall with Eax 4.0 on, however some of the sound effects seem to be a bit off. As an example, indoors the reverb effects tend to fade in and out in the middle of conversations, and as I wander around a room.

I have checked to make sure I have the latest drivers from creative but I am at a loss as to what else could be causing this. Does anyone have any ideas?

According to Creative's site it only supports EAX3.

"EAX ADVANCED HD 3.0 support for gaming."

It is a bit confusing, but the updated driver that downloaded from creative's site claimed to support EAX 4.0:

This package enhances your Sound Blaster® Audigy® SE or Audigy Value audio device with EAX®4.0 ADVANCED HD™ capabilities.

But even using EAX 3.0 I still have similar problems. Things like people's voices suddenly cutting in and out, then being fine again. It seems to have something to do with the camera angle but I am not exactly sure. I have tested my setup on a couple of other games, such as battlefield 2, to see if there is something wrong with my computer but I havent had any problems in any of them.

I believe you may have misread. The way I read that line is "This package enhances the sound quality on cards with EAX4 capabilities", not "This package enhances the sound quality by giving the cards EAX4 capabilities".

I could be wrong, but that's how I interperate that line.

Wow that was incredibly dumb of me, not sure how I missed that. Part of the reason I got confused is that before installing the driver the game claimed I didnt have eax4 compatabile hardware and greyed out the setting, and afterwards it said I did and let me use the setting. Just a bug I guess.

Thanks for the help.

Actually Infidel is right. This driver enables EAX 4.0 capabilities on your Audigy card. I tried EAX 4 in the game with the new driver and it works fine.

Infidel, do you have an 5.1 speaker set?
